Rowan Dartington Adds Three New Investment Managers

The UK wealth manager has boosted its regional teams with five hires, including three investment managers.

Rowan Dartington has hired three new investment managers in London, Manchester and Liverpool, an equity research analyst in London and a stockbroker in Bristol.

In London, the company has appointed investment manager Gregg McAlister from RBC Wealth Management. In Manchester, Johnny Arthur has joined from Hanson Asset Management, where he was head of investment management for two years. In Liverpool, David McNiven has joined from Quilter Cheviot after four years as investment director.

Arthur and McNiven will represent Rowan Dartington from St James’s Place offices in Manchester and Liverpool, working with private clients in the region and offering discretionary fund management services to SJP Partners.

The newly-created roles come a year after fellow UK wealth manager St James's Place agreed to acquire Rowan Dartington for up to £34 million ($45 million).

Rowan Dartington has also hired equity research analyst Andrew Wace from Axa Investment Managers, where he covered retail, tobacco, aerospace and defence, and engineering sectors. In Bristol, stockbroker Edmund Mills has joined from Beaufort Securities.

“The North and Scotland are areas with great growth potential and we will continue to increase our footprint there with more people to join us in Newcastle, Leeds and Edinburgh this year,” said Rowan Dartington's executive chairman, Graham Coxell.

“In Johnny, David, Gregg, Andrew and Edmund we have found five great people who we are confident will be the right cultural fit and will contribute the energy and positivity that has come to define Rowan Dartington as we continue to grow around the UK.”

Rowan Dartington has over £1.4 billion in client assets.
