UBS Portfolio Specialists Head In APAC Assumes Global Role In Restructure
The Swiss banking group has unveiled the structure of its new client investment specialists team in Asia.
UBS has appointed Mischa Eckart as its new head of client investment specialists (CIS) in Asia-Pacific, replacing Sean Cochran, who will serve as global head of ultra-high net worth CIS, WealthBriefing understands.
Cochran will relocate to Switzerland in early 2017 for his new role. Evelyn Yeo has been appointed to succeed Eckart as head of sales and content distribution for APAC within the bank’s investment products and services distribution management (IPS DM) unit.
CIS, previously known as "portfolio specialists", will be responsible for sales and after-sales of under-contract solutions, including funds and alternatives, in collaboration with specialists from the other segments of IPS DM.
UBS has set up a dedicated investment fund sales team for the unit. In APAC, CIS UHNW Singapore will be led by Thomas Tai; CIS HNW Singapore will be led by Aik Leong Goh; CIS UHNW Hong Kong will be led by Winnie Kan, and CIS HNW Hong Kong will be led by Anissa Ngao.
Meanwhile, the region’s CIS funds and mandate after-sales team will be led by Paul Stefansson. That team will include investment fund sales specialists, with responsibility for fund and mandate after-sales and education.
The new set-up seeks to provide one point of entry to the bank’s range of IPS under-contract offerings, while freeing up more time for client-facing investment specialists.
