Lombard International Assurance Expands French Footprint With New Hire

The appointment follows the opening of the firm’s French representative office in Paris last year.

Lombard International Assurance has appointed David Liebmann as head of French market as it looks to expand its footprint in the European country, which it says is a key growth area for 2017.

Liebmann joined from Carmignac, where he spent the last seven years serving as deputy head of sales France and Monaco. While there, he was in charge of distributing Carmignac’s funds through private banks, discretionary wealth managers and family offices.

Prior to that, he worked at Rothschild & Cie in Paris, and Banque Privée.

In his new role at Lombard, Liebmann reports to Luca Bertacchi, regional sales director Central and Southern Europe. Based in Luxembourg, he is responsible for the firm’s overall sales strategy for France and for developing opportunities in the market, growing business with new and existing distribution partners.

His appointment follows the opening of the firm’s French representative office in Paris last year.

“His knowledge and expertise of the French market will prove invaluable in the development of our operations there,” said Bertacchi. “His distribution experience will enable us to maximise the growth opportunities we are seeing in the French market, providing our partners with the highest quality support in developing expert wealth structuring solutions that we are synonymous with.”
