As Brexit Looms, Where Are The Best Cities For EU Bankers To Live And Work?

Movinga has ranked the locations it believes could be the most likely to gain a "Brit influx from the Brexodus".
It has been said that hundreds of thousands of British professionals face the possibility of relocation given the UK’s momentous decision to leave the European Union.
With many European cities offering access to the EU single market, these cities are vying for the financial benefits that these “Brefugees” may bring.
Movinga has compiled a “Brefugee City Ranking” to help identify which locations may be best suited for London bankers or those looking to break into the EU start-up and technology ecosystem. The ranking is divided into two sections: the best EU cities for London’s bankers and the best EU cities to work for start-ups.
Based on factors such as maximum income, English friendliness and standard timing of a direct flight from the main airport of each city to one of four London airports, here are Movinga’s top ten cities for bankers:
1. Dublin, Ireland
2. Amsterdam, Netherlands
3. Valetta, Malta
4. Luxembourg
5. Brussels, Belgium
6. Frankfurt, Germany
7. Hamburg, Germany
8. Madrid, Spain
9. Paris, France
10. Milan, Italy
“Everyone is talking about cities like Paris and Frankfurt preparing for an influx of banking industry workers due to Brexit,” said Finn Hänsel, a managing director at Movinga. “But other cities like Dublin, Valletta, Luxembourg and Amsterdam may actually be better equipped to make these workers feel happy and at home. Individuals and businesses alike should consider the unique factors important to their relocation before planning their move,” Hänsel added.
