Ex-Close Brothers' Lovell To Head Up New Private Client Offering

Sanlam is launching the new offering for high net worth clients with assets worth upwards of $1.3 million.

Sanlam UK has appointed ex-Close Brothers Asset Management head of private client, Penny Lovell, to launch its new private office operation.

Lovell will join the Group’s executive committee and will assume the role of chief executive of Sanlam Private Office, reporting to group CEO, Jonathan Polin. She will be responsible for leading the new offering for high net worth clients with assets worth upwards of £1 million ($1.3 million).

At Close Brothers Asset Management Lovell spent the last five years as head of private client service. Previously she was managing director at Rothschild Wealth Management, and has held senior positions at Fleming Family & Partners and Coutts. She has been a judge for this news service's annual European wealth management awards programme.

“I have spent the last two years reorganising and unifying the business to support the delivery of a vastly enhanced, client-focussed investment and service proposition," said Polin. "The forthcoming launch of a private office extends our service in the UK and bolsters our ability to offer tailored solutions for an increasing complex and bespoke set of needs from high net worth clients.  Penny’s expertise and experience in delivering a first-class high net worth and private office proposition will be central to us cementing our position as one of the UK’s leading wealth managers.”
