Luca Pedrotti, who has been head of Italy, Benelux, Monaco and Greece at UBS’s wealth arm, will head up the firm’s newly-formed Greece, Israel and Africa (GIA) segment, this publication has learned.

Meanwhile, Patrick Mueller, current head of Israel and Africa, has worked with Pedrotti to transition the Israel and Africa business throughout February. Mueller is now examining a number of roles within UBS, both in and outside the wealth management GEM (global emerging markets) segment.

Mueller is highly regarded and has played an important role at the firm. Recently, UBS launched an onshore presence in Israel.
