The latest senior moves in wealth and asset management from across Europe and the UK.
In a newly-created role, Vanguard has appointed Fong Yee Chan as head of ESG strategy for the UK and Europe. Based in London, Chan will be in charge of Vanguard’s evolving approach to ESG in Europe and report to Europe head of portfolio review, Matthew Piro.
She has spent more than a decade in sustainable investment and was previously director of FTSE Russell's sustainable investment products team, where she led ESG ETF strategy for EMEA. Before that, she was ESG director at eFront, heading the firm's private-equity ESG solution. She also sits on the board of the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association.
“The ESG landscape is evolving rapidly with new regulation, an increasing number of investment offerings and different perspectives on the best way to approach ESG,” Sean Hagerty, head of Vanguard, Europe, said. Chan’s “ESG expertise will help accelerate our efforts.”
IQ-EQ, the investor services group, has named Mirek Gruna as its new chief commercial officer for Jersey. This is a new role at the firm.
Gruna has more than 15 years’ experience in financial services. He was previously managing director for an independent trustee and corporate administration firm in Jersey, where he was responsible for growing and delivering corporate, funds and private wealth service offerings in Jersey, Cayman, UK, and Abu Dhabi. He has also acted as a director on the boards of a number of entities owned by listed companies and sovereign wealth funds.
Gruna holds two postgraduate Law degrees from institutions in the Czech Republic and London, as well as an International Diploma in Compliance. He is a member of the International Compliance Association and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
