Stonehage Appoints Award Winning Private Client Lawyer as Consultant

The Stonehage Group, an international wealth management advisor to high net worth families, with combined assets under administration of $24 billion, has appointed private client lawyer, John Rhodes, as a consultant to its Private Client Division starting in March. Mr Rhodes was previously at London private client law firm Macfarlanes, where he was head of the Private Client Department from 2000 to 2005 before retiring in 2006. His main area of practice has been estate planning for wealthy UK and international families, with particular emphasis on the use and restructuring of trusts and other vehicles, the law of domicile and UK inheritance and capital gains tax. He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law. Mr Rhodes was awarded a STEP Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006 on his retirement as a partner at Macfarlanes.
