has made a flurry of new appointments across its London and New York-based teams, including a new investment chief for its institutional arm. BNPP IP has appointed Guy Williams, who joined the business five years ago, as chief investment officer of its institutional business. Williams previously held the role of chief investment officer of BNPP IP’s global fixed income affiliate, Fischer, Francis, Trees & Watts. In the newly-created position, he will lead collaboration across investment teams and develop investment strategy and market views. He will be based in London, reporting to David Kiddie, head of BNPP IP's institutional business. Joining Williams' team will be Daniel Morris as senior investment strategist and Richard Barwell as senior economist. Morris joins from TIAA-CREF Asset Management where he was global investment strategist while Barwell previously served as senior European economist within the markets and international banking division of Royal Bank of Scotland, focusing on the eurozone and European Central Bank policy. In their newly-created roles, Morris and Barwell will be in charge of collaboration between investment teams and alpha-generating investment views across all asset classes. Both will report to Williams. BNPP IP has promoted its head of global multi-sector investments, Dominick DeAlto, to chief investment officer and head of institutional fixed income, succeeding Williams. The fixed income platform currently employs over 75 investment staff and manages 40 investment strategies ranging from traditional to alternative fixed income. DeAlto will be based in New York and report to Kiddie. In other movements, Timothy Johnson, who was previously head of global sovereign fixed income at FFTW, has been appointed head of total return multi-sector, which combines the global multi-sector and global sovereign teams. Lastly, Dan Singleman, previously portfolio manager at Aflac Global Investments, joins as senior portfolio manager within the sector rotation alpha team. Both Johnson and Singleman will be based in New York, reporting to DeAlto.
