. Josh Matthews, managing partner, said King’s experience as an expat US person will help boost MASECO’s focus on this area of serving US-taxpayer investors. A number of firms such as MASECO and London & Capital have sought to make a point of continuing to serve expat Americans who have struggled to find banks willing to serve them following introduction of onerous new rules under the US FATCA legislation.
George King IV has joined the firm as a partner, and he will concentrate on developing relationships and managing assets for private clients, trusts and charities.
Previously, King was head of portfolio strategy at RBC in London; he has also held various positions at Barclays, Credit Suisse and Alliance Bernstein in the UK and the US.
“MASECO is well known in the market as being a preferred wealth manager for US-taxpayer investors and the robust investment platform also provides a compelling set of solutions for other resident non-domicile and British clients,” King said.
