Brown, who is based in London, has around 30 years of industry experience as a fund manager and research analyst. He joins Tilney from Sanlam Securities, where he covered the support services sector.

Earlier this week, Tilney Bestinvest rebranded as the Tilney Group to mark the completion of its integration of Towry in August 2016.

The business has over 300 financial planners, investment managers and advisors supporting over 100,000 clients from 30 UK offices.

While the group operates under the Tilney brand for financial planning, investment management and investment advice, it continues to build on the Bestinvest brand for online investment services.

Meanwhile, in recognition that its partners now also include other professional service firms such as consultants, lawyers and accountants, Tilney for Intermediaries has been renamed as Tilney for Professionals.
