CFA Society Of The UK
An organisation promoting financial training and certification is launching a new programme to tap into a need for better understanding of climate change and how this affects investment and finance.

said it has launched formal supported training programmes for its already-launched Certificate in Climate and Investing in partnership with training providers and partners BPP, Fitch Learning and Quartic.

The group said that the CCI is designed to help the investment management industry understand the implications of climate change on investments and help people build careers in the field. It is also a response to wealth managers needing to change their skillsets in order to meet changes in the working environment – digitalisation for example.

The certificate is a self-study course requiring a recommended 150 hours of study. Candidates are able to access a range of content and support from enrolment until they take the exam. (The CCI was launched in February.)

“At CFA UK we are delighted to be able to offer this route as an addition to the self-study option to ensure that candidates that are choosing to invest in their careers towards achieving net zero investment strategies are given the best possible preparation,” Christina Curtin, director of education at CFA UK, said.

The CFA UK programme is significant because the organisation says it represents the interests of 12,000 investment professionals in the UK through advocacy, education, events and professional development.

This news service recently held its inaugural Wealth For Good Awards. Details of the winners are covered in the Acclaim publication. The next edition of the awards will be launched in November this year.
