Dresdner Bank plans to expand its private banking operations, according to the bank’s management board member Andreas Georgi. Mr Georgi told Handelsbatt that private banking in the UK and the Middle East have been earmarked for expansion. Dresdner runs Kleinwort Benson Private Bank in the UK, which has been making a number of positive noises about a new strategic focus for a number of months under the leadership of Robert Taylor. The Handelsbatt article said Dresdner would open two private banking branches outside London, although WealthBriefing was unable to establish where these are likely to be located. No further details were given on Dresdner’s plans for private banking expansion in the Middle East.
