Scottish Widows Investment Partnership has bolstered its London-based fixed income team with the appointment of Sarah Wall as senior asset backed security investment analyst.

Wall was most recently director of ABS restructuring at M&G Investments, having previously been director of ABS credit research. Before this, she was an associate director at Fitch Ratings.

In her new role Wall reports to Daniel McKernan, the firm’s head of European and UK credit. Her appointment brings the fixed income team to a total of 17, managing £67.3 billion ($111 billion) in fixed income and cash assets, as at the end of June.

In another appointment in recent months, May saw Nick Thiem installed as head of discretionary sales within the SWIP wholesale distribution team. He joined SWIP from Gartmore, where he was a discretionary account director.

In his new role Thiem is responsible for driving SWIP’s overall sales and client relationships for the discretionary marketplace. He reports directly to Kevin Addison, head of wholesale for SWIP.
