Ogier, the legal and fiduciary firm, is to launch a boutique law firm in Luxembourg which will be followed by a fiduciary business opening up later in the year.

It will be the first offshore firm with an onshore legal presence in the country. The new office will serve the firm's existing offshore clients who have an interest in Luxembourg but also introduce new business from its other offices in Asia and North America.

“The new office is being driven by client demand as many of our existing clients currently use or have expressed an interest in using Luxembourg, either stand-alone or as part of an offshore structure. Having a Luxembourg legal capability will therefore complement our existing suite of services," said Nick Kershaw, group chief executive officer.

The new office will be headed up by François Pfister, who is joining from OPF Partners in Luxembourg. He has experience within investment funds, international taxation, M&A and corporate law. Daniel Richards, who is a group partner in Ogier’s Jersey office, will work alongside Pfister as partners of the new office.
