Toronto-based Cumberland Private Wealth Management has named Peter Jackson as its chief investment officer. He replaces John Wilson, who had been CIO at Cumberland since 2009, as well as the firm’s primary technology and telecom analyst. He has now resigned to join another firm, a spokesperson confirmed to this publication. Media reports suggested that Wilson had left Cumberland to join Sprott Asset Management. However, the firm could not be reached to comment on this. Jackson has managed the firm’s Canadian equities portfolio since 1999. He also manages the Cumberland Total Energy fund and the Cumberland Special Opportunities fund.
