11 July 2012
Booz & Co, the global consultant, has named a new managing director for its China business, based in Shanghai. Current leader Andrew Cainey will take a step back to be succeeded by Sarah Butler. Cainey wrote in an emailed statement: "I will return to focussing fully on serving clients and will continue to develop the firm's thought leadership in topics
such as digitization." In addition, he has recently taken on a position
as senior fellow at Fung Global Institute, a new Hong Kong-based think
tank dedicated to bringing Asian perspectives to global issues. His main
focus will be on the future development of Asia’s financial sector.
Butler has been based in Asia-Pacific for twenty years and on the ground in China since January 2011. She also sits on the board of directors, and most recently was in charge of the health and financial services practice, which she will continue to lead.
Dr. Edward Tse, thought-leader on China and author of books such as The China Strategy and the recently published Surpass, remains chairman, Greater China.
