NBAD Names Former Swiss Private Banking Chief Investment Officer As New Group CIO

United Arab Emirates-based National Bank of Abu Dhabi has appointed Claude-Henri Chavanon as group chief investment officer and head of the investment group of NBAD, based in Abu Dhabi. Chavanon, with more than 15 years’ experience in investment management and business development across various asset classes, previously served as chief investment officer of NBAD Private Bank in Switzerland since 2007. In his new role, Chavanon will oversee NBAD’s investment strategies and vehicles. He will serve in the bank’s various investment management committees, and direct and manage the delivery of investment products across all NBAD business lines. He will also lead the strategic and tactical investment asset allocation for use by clients’ businesses. In addition, Chavanon will chair the bank’s investment products committee and investment forum committee to enhance NBAD’s investment products platform offering with a view to sourcing, selecting and distributing a broad range of investment products for domestic, regional and international markets, the bank said in a statement. NBAD, which currently operates in 15 countries, has 122 branches in the UAE.
