Cantonal Swiss Bank Recruits New CIO As Predecessor Steps Down

Switzerland’s
has appointed Dr Sandro Merino as its new chief investment
officer, taking on the role from the start of January next year. Merino takes over from Alfred Ritter, who held the CIO role
from 2009 and is retiring from the post. Holding a PhD in mathematics from the University of Zurich,
Merino’s financial industry career started at UBS, holding various posts in
that firm’s wealth management arm between 2000 and 2012.
