Canaccord Genuity's Wealth Arm In Canada Names New President

Toronto-listed has announced that Stuart Raftus is joining as president of its wealth management arm in Canada with immediate effect.

Raftus, who has held senior roles at a raft of companies, takes up the post at Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management in Canada, the firm said in a statement today.

Additionally, John Rothwell was the previous president at the wealth management business. He leaves the business with immediate effect, a spokesperson for the firm told this publication.

“Stuart’s significant track record of execution, strong industry background and deep understanding of our business make him very well suited to lead this division. Under his leadership, we will maintain our focus on enhancing the operational efficiency of the business, reinvigorate our recruitment efforts and continue to provide our clients with exceptional service levels,” Paul Reynolds, president and CEO of Canaccord Genuity Group, said.

Raftus has over 28 years of experience in the securities industry, having served most recently as president and chief operating officer at Beacon Securities. His roles have included those of president and CEO at Seamark Asset Management, president and COO at Blackmont Capital and, managing director, head of wealth management for CIBC Oppenheimer’s US distribution business.
