International Law Firm Relocates New York Partner, Litigation Specialist To Hong Kong

, the US-headquartered law firm with an extensive financial services offering, has relocated its New York partner to Hong Kong to support its growing litigation unit in Asia. Catherine Palmer represents multinationals and global financial institutions involved in criminal or regulatory investigations worldwide, with an emphasis on global corruption, bribery and sanctions enquiries and global antitrust cartel investigations. She brings over 25 years of experience to the Hong Kong office and has interacted with regulators in the US, the EU, the UK, India, Singapore, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea and Australia. She moved to Hong Kong in 1 March 2014. Latham & Watkins has been building its Asia team since the start of 2014 in response to rising client demand. In January, it hired Howard Lam from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer as partner for its finance department in Hong Kong. In March, it promoted two of its counsels to partner in Singapore and Hong Kong.
