Howard Altman, co-managing principal of Rothstein Kass, the New York-based advisory and accounting firm, has been elected to serve on the board of directors of the Hedge Fund Association.

Mr Altman, who is  principal-in-charge of the Rothstein Kass Financial Services Group, has worked with hedge fund clients on initial hedge fund organizational structure, as well as the supervision of audits and consultations on operational, regulatory and tax matters.

The founding member of the HFA Thought Leader Council, Mr Altman will work with the organization to promote greater transparency and educational initiatives within the alternative investment space, Rothstein Kass said in a statement.
