Baring Adds New Head For Germany

Baring Asset Management, the venerable London-headquartered investment house which is currently part of MassMutual Financial Group, has appointed Lars Albert as head of sales, Germany and Austria, based in Frankfurt.

Albert, who will report to Oliver Morath, head of European and Middle East sales, joins Barings from Henderson Global Investors, where he was head of sales for Germany and Austria. Before that, he held senior roles at SEB Asset Management and Fundmatrix, all based in Frankfurt.

Earlier this week, Barings confirmed that it had completed its acquisition of SEI Asset Korea, which has now become Baring Asset Management Korea. The acquisition will add around $7.4 billion to Barings’ assets under management, the firm said.
