Baring Asset Management, the London-headquartered investment house which is part of MassMutual Financial Group, has appointed Anne Lui as head of marketing, Asia ex Japan, based in Hong Kong.

Lui, with more than 17 years’ experience in financial marketing and corporate communications, was previously head of marketing and communications at Value Partners Group in Hong Kong. Before that, she served as head of greater China corporate communications at Nomura (formerly Lehman Brothers) before the role was expanded and she became head of business media relations for Asia ex Japan, all based in Hong Kong. Lui also has agency experience, having worked previously in a vice president role at Ketchum Newscan Public Relations, where she was responsible for establishing the firm’s financial communications practice in Hong Kong.

In her new role, Lui will report to Claire Fraser, head of marketing and communications, who is based in London.

In other recent hires at the firm, last month Baring Asset Management added Staffan Lindfeldt and Isabelle Alexander to its global emerging market equities team, based in its London office. Earlier this month Baring announced Fraser’s promotion from her global role as head of distribution marketing to her current position as head of marketing and communications.
