Hamburg-based private bank Berenberg has appointed Hans Wöll as manager of its Munich branch, effective 1 August.

He joins from Hauck & Aufhäuser, where he was head of private and corporate business.

Prior to this, he was head of private banking at Merck Finck from 1997 to 2007.

Earlier this month, Berenberg announced three new hires for its private banking unit in London.

The private bank hired Alexis Chardigny, Alexis Eman, and Stefano Novarini, all from Morgan Stanley, in a move to expand its private banking capabilities in London.

Berenberg currently has 17 offices across Europe, with more than €28 billion ($36.81 billion) in assets under management.
