Blackstone Buys Intertrust From Netherlands-Based Waterland

New York-listed Blackstone has acquired Intertrust, the global trust and corporate services firm, from Dutch private equity firm Waterland.

The acquisition is expected to finalise "in the coming months" following regulatory approvals, David de Buck, chief executive of Intertrust, said in a statement to his firm's partners.

de Buck added: "The combination of entrepreneurship, resources, and focus on quality offered by Intertrust - and supported by Blackstone - will allow us to further support you and your clients in realising your business goals."

Intertrust was sold by Fortis Bank Nederland and BGL BNP Paribas to Waterland in February 2010.
