EFG International Makes Top-Level Changes
Operating in a number of regions, the Switzerland-headquartered group unveiled a new COO and said its global head of HR had been made an executive committee member.
EFG
International has appointed Demis Stucki as its new chief
operating officer. He is taking over from Martin Freiermuth, who
has stepped down from the post. At the same time, the
Zurich-listed bank has appointed Ioanna
Archimandriti, global head of human resources, as a member
of the executive committee.
Stucki has also been named an executive committee member, EFG
said in a statement yesterday.
In their new positions, they will both report to Giorgio
Pradelli, CEO of the group.
Stucki will oversee the entire operations and IT functions of the
bank. He has been global private banking COO since 2021. Before
that, he was private banking COO and chief of staff for private
banking in the Switzerland and Italy region for four years. In
total, Stucki has worked in the banking sector for 25 years, of
which eight were in Asia. He is a Swiss citizen and chairman of
the Swiss American Chamber of Commerce – Ticino chapter.
Archimandriti, a Greek citizen, has been global head of
HR since 2021. She joined EFG in 2016 and has
worked in a number of senior roles. Before EFG, she worked at
Eurobank.
“Attracting and retaining the best talent and continuing to
enhance digital innovation and scalability will ensure we can
deliver sustainable and profitable growth to achieve our 2025
targets and beyond…I would like to sincerely thanks Martin
Freiermuth for his highly valued contribution in increasing EFG’s
operational efficiency since joining EFG in 2020.”
EFG International, which operates in a number of regions, said in
November that for the first 10 months of 2024 its
net profit came in at SFr260 million ($293.7 million),
up from SFr240 million in the same 10-month period a year
earlier. For all of 2023, it was SFr303.2 million a year before.
