First Republic Creates Chief Administrative Role

First Republic Bank has appointed senior vice president Jason Bender to the newly-created position of chief administrative officer.

Bender currently manages First Republic’s finance department but will assume additional responsibilities for lending operations and servicing, as well as administrative services. He joined First Republic in 1999 and has led the bank’s finance department since 2001.

In other recent senior moves at the New York-listed bank, last week Mike Selfridge, senior executive vice president, was given the additional role of deputy chief operating officer.

Selfridge oversees First Republic’s private banking business in the San Francisco, CA, and Silicon Valley areas, and as deputy COO takes on additional responsibilities including immediate oversight of information technology.

Earlier this month, First Republic reported that total wealth management assets were $31.7 billion at December 31, 2012, up 28 per cent for the quarter and 55 per cent since the previous year-end.
