Investment Giant Rolls Out Asia-Focused Absolute Return Fund

The US-listed investment firm has launched an Asia-focused fund aimed at absolute returns in all market conditions.
BlackRock has
launched an Asia-focused absolute return fund that takes long and
short positions, targeting returns above what can be
captured by more traditional approaches.
The (BSF) Asia Pacific Absolute Return Fund is a liquid
equity long/short UCITS strategy that aims at positive returns
regardless of where the market moves. Typically, it will be made
up of 40 to 60 long and 40 to 60 short market positions, using
various tools such as equity swaps, contracts for difference,
futures, options and ETFs.
The fund will be co-managed by Oisin Crawley, portfolio manager
and co-head of research for the Asian equities team, and Andrew
Swan, head of Asian equities at BlackRock. They will be supported
a team in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
