Morgan Stanley has appointed Michael Armstrong as head of capital markets at its global wealth management group, according to an internal memo. Mr Armstrong, a former manager with its institutional fixed income division, will be responsible for managing all equity and fixed income products originated and sold to wealth management clients. He will report to James Gorman, head of Morgan Stanley's brokerage and high-net worth businesses. Mr Armstrong will be the wealth management division's primary contact with other Morgan Stanley units such as investment banking, institutional sales and trading, according to the memo.
