NY Firm Hires Wealth Management Heads From Citibank

New York’s Signature Bank continues to add to its wealth management team of managers, hiring a private client banking team at its Great Neck, Long Island office.

Leading the Great Neck team are John Spagnuolo and John Paglia, who join from Citibank and have been named group directors and senior vice presidents. In addition, Jeffrey Greenberg joins the team as senior client associate

Mr Spagnuolo spent the past nine years at Citibank, where he served as financial centre manager and vice president at the Manhasset, New York office. Later, he was given additional responsibility for the same role at the Plandome center, also in New York.

Mr Paglia spent seven years at Citibank. Previously, he was financial centre manager and vice president for several other financial centres in the New York area.

"The appointment of this experienced private client banking team again demonstrates the vast opportunities out there in the marketplace right now to attract and retain top banking professionals who can bring solid relationship banking expertise to our franchise," said Joseph DePaolo, president and chief executive of Signature Bank.

Last month, Signature Bank appointed seven new private banking teams - all of whom joined from Capital One Bank - adding 19 private bankers to its headcount.

Signature Bank will establish its first private client banking office on the west side of midtown Manhattan, New York to accommodate several of these new teams in the coming months. At present the bank has a network of 22 private client offices located across the New York metropolitan area.
