Japan’s Nikko Asset
Management has snapped up six global equity specialists from
Scottish Widows Investment Partnership for its Edinburgh
office.
The team is headed up by William Low, who will be managing
Stephen Corr, James Kinghorn, Greig Bryson, Iain Fulton and
Johnny Russell.
The team will focus on global equities, the first time Nikko has
covered this asset class using a specialist team.
“We are excited that we have been able to attract this highly
successful investment team in an area where we believe we can add
value to clients' portfolios," said Yu Ming Wang, global head of
investment at Nikko Asset Management. “The track record that Will
Low and his five colleagues have assembled demonstrates that they
are exceptionally qualified as active global equity managers, and
we look forward to their contribution to our European
business.”
Nikko Asset Management has been expanding, acquiring a specialist
Asian equity team from Sydney-based Treasury Asia Asset
Management in October 2013. In March 2014, it brought in a
multi-asset capability, which is based in Singapore.
