Ogier Promotes Legal Chief Executive
Ogier, the legal and fiduciary firm, has named James Bergstrom as legal chief executive, taking over from group CEO Nick Kershaw with immediate effect.
Kershaw has handed over the legal CEO post to Bergstrom but retains his role as group CEO, after being elected for a second three-year term. In addition, Kershaw will return part-time to assume a client-facing role, the firm said in a statement.
Bergstrom, who joined Ogier's Cayman office in 1991 and became a partner in 1998, was managing partner of the Cayman office from 2002 to 2010 and head of Ogier’s global investment funds team from 2006 until the end of 2010. He then relocated to Hong Kong in 2011 to head up the firm's office as managing partner.
In other recent developments, Ogier said last month that it will launch a boutique law firm in Luxembourg, followed by a new fiduciary business later this year.
