SKAGEN Funds Adds New Portfolio Manager

SKAGEN Funds has appointed Johan Swahn as a portfolio manager for the SKAGEN Global fund team, effective 10 March.

SKAGEN Funds has appointed Johan Swahn as a portfolio manager for the SKAGEN Global fund team, effective 10 March.

Swahn joins from Stena AB in Gothenburg, where he has been working since 2008 as an investment manager of Stena Long Term Equity, a global, long-only mandate within the Stena Sphere of companies.

He previously held sell-side analyst roles at Morgan Stanley, where he was head of their European paper and steel research team, Handelsbanken Capital Markets and UBS Warburg.

In other news, on 1 January, SKAGEN launched new unit classes in the UK for three of its equity funds, including its flagship SKAGEN Kon-Tiki, as well as SKAGEN Global and SKAGEN Vekst.

The new unit classes comply with regulatory changes following the implementation of the Retail Distribution Review, which no longer permits investment managers to pay commission to advisors, platforms or distributors and forces investment firms to provide investors with clean share classes.
