Sarasin Partners Confirms UK Charities Investment Team Joiner From HSBC

Sarasin & Partners, part of Swiss private bank Sarasin,  has confirmed that it has appointed a further investment professional from HSBC to work at its charity division in the UK.

Olly Bates joins from HSBC Investments where he was previously head of its charities section, a move WealthBriefing prefaced in June.  He follows in the footsteps of of Dan Potter, who also joined from HSBC in June this year.

The Sarasin charities unit is headed by Richard Maitland.

“The Sarasin & Partners presence in the charity market has grown steadily in recent years to the point where we now manage approximately £2 billion of charity and not-for-profit monies, which amounts to more than 25 per cent of the firm's assets under management,” Mr Maitland said.

Sarasin & Partners is 60 per cent owned by Bank Sarasin and 40 per cent owned by its local management in London. The company manages some £7.3 billion ($13 billion) for private clients, charities, pension funds and institutions both in the UK and internationally which include a range of offshore and onshore unit trusts and investment funds.
