Standard Bank Makes Two Senior Appointments In Jersey

South Africa’s Standard Bank has appointed Chris Marshall as a director in its Jersey-based funds administration team and Sally Rochester as head of internal audit for its offshore group.

In his new role Mr Marshall heads up the bank's funds fiduciary services unit - which provides private equity funds, property funds, company secretarial and fund compliance services - and is also responsible for raising awareness of Standard Bank’s private equity service across the group.

Mr Marshall joins Standard Bank from Mourant in Jersey, where he was an associate director within the law firm’s fund administration service, Mourant International Finance Administration.

Ms Rochester, meanwhile, joins Standard Bank from KPMG, where she was instrumental in setting up the firm’s operation in the British Virgin Islands. While BVI-based, she gained experience as an external auditor, focusing primarily on hedge fund audits, and was also seconded to Necker Island as a financial controller.

In her new role within Standard Bank’s risk team Ms Rochester will be based in Jersey and assume responsibility for overseeing the bank’s internal control, risk management and governance processes, supported by audit resources from London and South Africa.
