Standard Life Adds Vanguard Funds To Offshore Bond

Dublin-based Standard Life International has added eight Vanguard funds - including both bond and equity funds - to its International Bond.

Vanguard was appointed in April to manage Standard Life’s tracker funds and will now provide the index-tracking solutions within the firm's International Bond.

Ian Searle, business development manager, said the firm has seen "many examples" where advisors adopt a core passive management approach to portfolio construction. Simon Vanstone, head of institutional, Europe, highlighted the continued demand for low-cost index-tracking funds in the UK.

Standard Life employs around 9,000 people across the UK, Canada, Ireland, Germany, Austria, India, USA, Hong Kong and mainland China. At end-March, the group has £206.8 billion (about $328.4 billion) in assets under administration.
