John Danello has been appointed chief counsel for John Hancock’s US wealth management division. He will report to John DesPrez, chief executive of John Hancock Financial Services. Before joining John Hancock, Mr Danello had been group counsel for the Asset Management and Insurance Companies at Allmerica Financial, where he had managed the legal services and legal team for Allmerica's variable annuities, variable life insurance and mutual fund products. He also had worked at Tucker Anthony Sutro Corporation and Goodwin Procter.
