Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Nuveen, Broadridge, GAM, Others
The latest moves, appointments and other personnel changes in wealth management for the UK, rest of Europe, the Middle East and other select jurisdictions.
Nuveen
Nuveen, a $1.3
trillion asset manager and investment manager, has appointed
Harriet Steel as global head of institutional
business. Based in London, Steel reports to Mike Perry, head
of the firm’s global client group.
In this newly-created role, Steel is responsible for accelerating the growth of Nuveen’s institutional business, developing the business strategy to globalise its engagement with clients, leading all direct sales, asset class specialists and consultant relations personnel. She will also lead the growth of Nuveen’s Insurance client segment.
Before this role, Steel was partner and head of global clients for Pemberton, a European private debt manager, starting in April 2023. Previously, Steel spent over 11 years at Federated Hermes, most recently heading up its international business development. Prior to the acquisition of Hermes by Federated Investors in 2018, Steel was global head of business development and served as a member of the business’ executive committee and a board director.
Broadridge
Broadridge
Financial Solutions, has appointed Quentin Limouzi in the new
role of global head of post-trade.
“Post-trade” refers to the processing that goes on after a financial trade has occurred. This side of financial operations is akin to the “plumbing” of markets to ensure that they function smoothly. The area has become more tech-driven, given the faster speeds of trade and volumes of turnover.
Prior to joining Broadridge, Limouzi served in leadership and senior executive roles with LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group), TS Imagine (formerly TradingScreen), HSBC and BNP Paribas.
GAM Investments
GAM
Investments, part of Zurich-listed GAM Holding, has hired
three European equity team members from Janus Henderson
Investors.
The team, which will be led by Tom O’Hara, will include Jamie Ross and David Barker.
Between them, the trio has managed more than €6.5 billion ($ billion) in European equity funds on behalf of institutional and retail clients globally. They will join GAM over the coming months, the firm said in a statement.
O’Hara has been a portfolio manager on the European equities team at Janus Henderson Investors since 2020; Ross has been a portfolio manager at the same team since 2016; and Barker has been a research analyst on the team since 2021.
JTC Law
JTC Law has just
made two partner appointments, including establishing its first
on-the-ground presence in the Caribbean, as part of its growth
strategy.
Ruth Hatt (pictured below) will be JTC Law’s first partner based in the Cayman Islands, while Fiona Dalton has been appointed as head of banking and finance within the firm’s Jersey team, the firm said in a statement. With more than 20 years’ experience in corporate advisory work including mergers and acquisitions, regulatory and licensing, and private equity and hedge fund formation, Hatt has had a career working at law firms in the Cayman Islands, including most recently acting as regional general counsel for a Big Four Global Accounting Firm. Prior to this, she worked for Clifford Chance in London. She is also an associate member of the chartered institute (ACII) and an anti-money laundering specialist (CAMS).
Ruth Hatt
Hatt's appointment reflects JTC Law’s ambitions to enhance its international legal services proposition and expand its footprint across the offshore legal market.
In addition, Dalton (pictured below) has more than two decades of experience working at law firms in Jersey, covering finance, corporate, trust and restructuring, particularly real estate finance and structuring, as well as unit trusts, trusteeships, limited partnerships and corporate special purpose vehicles (SPVs). For the last 12 years, she has worked alongside the senior team at Jersey’s largest firm to support its growth and development and attain its top tier status. Dalton is ranked in the Legal 500 as a Rising Star and recognised as a ‘Notable Practitioner’ in the IFLR 1000.
Fiona Dalton
