Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management – Evelyn Partners, Squircle Capital, Others

The latest moves and appointments in wealth management in the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and other select locations.

Evelyn Partners
Evelyn Partners, an integrated wealth management and professional services group, has appointed Callum Ogden as a financial planner in its Birmingham office to expand the team.

Ogden (pictured) has worked in the financial planning profession since 2017 and most recently was a personal wealth advisor at Schroders Personal Wealth. He has also worked at Simpson Financial Services and Oak Wealth Planning. Prior to that he was in the British Army. As an ex-service person, Ogden has an innate understanding of the challenges that military leavers encounter which has commonalities with a professional athlete planning for the end of their sporting career. He is also a semi-professional boxer, the firm said in a statement.

Evelyn Partners, which was created following the merger of Tilney and Smith & Williamson, has £54.4 billion ($70.3 billion) of assets under management (as at 31 March 2023). It has a network of offices across 28 towns and cities in the UK, as well as the Republic of Ireland and the Channel Islands.

Squircle Capital
Squircle Capital, an established pan-European private equity firm, has appointed Delfin Rueda as managing director of finance.

Rueda, who is joining Squircle Capital’s growing team of 32 professionals across Luxembourg, Milan and Barcelona, has more than 30 years of working in major financial institutions. He has a multifaceted and broad range of expertise across various sectors and industries, including consulting, financial services, insurance, private equity and venture capital. Most recently, he served as CFO and vice chairman of the executive board at financial services provider NN Group.

An MBA graduate of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business, Rueda has advised corporate clients and financial institutions while working at JP Morgan, UBS, Salomon Brothers and Andersen Consulting. He has also worked for ING Insurance and Atradius.

Rueda’s remit will be to guide Squircle Capital’s financial operations and oversee the finance and fund administration teams. He will implement governance, reporting, monitoring, and management practices. Rueda will also become a member of the investment committee and join Squircle Capital’s executive committee.

Hawksmoor Investment Management
Specialist investment and fund management business, Hawksmoor Investment Management, has appointed Catherine Routh as chief operating officer.

Routh is joining the Exeter-based company from international tax and wealth management practice Blevins Franks where, for the last three-and-a-half years, she was deputy COO. Routh had previously worked at St James’s Place, Howard Warwick Associates, and Codex Global. Prior to her career in financial services, she served for 12 years with the British Army as an Arabic interpreter and intelligence operator.

Routh brings more than 20 years of operational experience in regulated environments, with extensive experience in leading teams from established businesses to increase growth. She has experience in numerous fields including recruitment, training and development, and human resources.

She will join Hawksmoor’s executive committee, client services committee, and risk and compliance committee – and chair the firm’s operations and technology committee.
