Allianz Global Investors Names New Equities CIO

The firm is one of the largest such equity fund management groups in the world.

Global Investors has appointed Virginie Maisonneuve as its
new global chief investment officer for equities. She is
succeeding Steve Berexa, who has been global CIO for equities
since 2015. As part of the succession planning, he will remain at
AllianzGI until the end of 2021, at which point he will retire
following 24 years with the firm.
Maisonneuve will be based in London following a move back from
Singapore in the autumn. As the asset class lead and CIO for
Equity, she will report to Deborah Zurkow, global head of
investments at Allianz Global Investors.
Maisonneuve has worked in the sector for more than 30 years.
Previously, she has worked in portfolio management and CIO
positions for companies such as Eastspring, Pimco, Schroders,
Clay Finlay, Batterymarch, State Street Research and Martin
Currie in various parts of the world including Singapore, New
York, Boston, San Francisco and London.
AllianzGI manages €160 billion ($194 billion) in equity
portfolios for retail and institutional clients.
