"Ed Peters brings to First Quadrant a wealth of experience as we continue development of investment strategies that exploit anomalies within global markets," says Darnell. "Ed's thought leadership and broad market insight will complement our experienced team and focused effort in quantitative macro investing."

At Boston-based quant manager PanAgora, where he worked for more than two decades, Peters oversaw an array of tactical asset-allocation strategies, portable alpha structures and multi-strategy hedge funds.

"I have a great deal of respect and admiration for First Quadrant and their leadership role in global macro investing," says Peters. "The firm is a pioneer in this space and continues to innovate."

First Quadrant, a member firm of Prides Crossing, Mass.-based Affiliated Managers Group, managed approximately $27.4 billion at the end of April 2008. The bulk of its products are distributed through retail channels. -FWR
