Asset Manager Hires New Head Of EMEA

The new head of EMEA will be based in London and will report to the firm's chief executive.

Asset manager Russell Investments has appointed Joseph Linhares as head of Europe, Middle East and Africa. He will be based in London.

Linhares will report to chief executive Len Brennan and serve as a member of the firm’s executive committee.

He joins the firm from BlackRock, where he spent 16 years in various positions in EMEA and the US, Russell Investments said in a statement yesterday.

“The addition of Joe to lead this important market for us positions the firm exceptionally well for the future,” said Brennan. “Joe brings a valuable combination of skills to Russell Investments, including deep industry and market expertise as well as the demonstrated ability to lead successful teams and identify and capture business growth opportunities.

“Collectively, these qualities make him especially well-suited to champion the growth of our EMEA business. I am very excited to welcome him on board."
