Barclays Nabs MSSB Team In New York

Barclays has brought in Edward Moldaver, managing director, and his five-strong team to serve in its New York wealth and investment management division.

Moldaver reports to Mark Stevenson, managing director and regional manager for New York. His team, which includes former New York Jets player Wayne Chrebet, joins Barclays from the global wealth management division of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.

Moldaver has 25 years of experience in the wealth management industry. At MSSB, which he joined in 2008, he founded the Moldaver 80 group - a team of six wealth management professionals providing investment, brokerage and banking services to high net worth individuals and families. Prior to MSSB, he was a senior managing director at Bear Stearns’ private wealth client services group for six years.

Chrebet, who joins Barclays as an assistant vice president, worked with Moldaver at MSSB for four years serving HNW and UHNW individuals.

James Lee, also an assistant vice president, previously worked with Moldaver at MSSB and Bear Stearns’ private wealth client services group. Lee has 12 years of experience in portfolio management including fixed income, equity, asset allocation strategies and monitoring clients’ financial plans.

Meanwhile, Mary Silwa, Mary Bennett and Joseph Tahmoosh start as client service analysts, having also worked with Moldaver at MSSB.

In a similar move, in May four investment representatives - Mark Leyton, Zach Shillingford, Gannon McCaffery and Darin Lauv - were brought in for the wealth and investment management office in New York. They also report to Stevenson.

In the US, Barclays’ wealth and investment management division has 13 offices, including Barclays Wealth Trustees.
