BNY Mellon Brings In Attorney For New Tax, Estate Planning Role

BNY Mellon has appointed attorney Joshua Miller to a newly-created position in its wealth management business, supporting the firm’s clients in the areas of private banking, wealth, tax and estate planning.

Miller has been appointed at vice president level, and will be based in Boston, reporting to Dan Gebhart, a senior director at the firm. A practicing attorney for seven years, he joined BNY Mellon from the law firm Holland & Knight.

This is the second new role BNY Mellon has created at its wealth management unit this month, having already brought in former JP Morgan exec Paul Sari to develop a national sales strategy to reach high net worth clients within the firm's institutional arm.

Sari, who has been appointed head of institutional client development and opportunity management within BNY's wealth business, will oversee lead-generation efforts across the US. The firm's strategy seeks to maximize the relationship potential with clients in various divisions. In this role he reports to Tracy Nickl, the national sales executive for BNY Mellon Wealth Management.

BNY Mellon is one of the country's largest wealth managers with $171 billion in private client assets. In other recent developments at the firm, it has named Diego Folina from Standard Chartered Bank as country executive in Mexico, to lead its business there.
