BNY Mellon Wealth Management has brought in Megan Gorman to work with ultra high net worth clients as a senior director in Northern California - a new role at the firm created as part of its major recruitment drive to expand in what it sees as key wealth markets.
Gorman, who joined BNY Mellon Wealth Management in February, reports to regional president Amy Millman and is based in San Francisco, CA.
Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Gorman served as vice president of financial counseling for 11 years at The Ayco Company, a Goldman Sachs company that provides financial counseling and education services for high net worth individuals and families, and corporate executives and employees.
BNY Mellon Wealth Management, which recently unveiled plans to boost its sales force by 50 per cent, is making key hires at several of its current locations, while also looking to set up shop in other wealth management hotspots - particularly in the Southeast and Southwest. Last week, for example, the firm strengthened its presence in Southern California with the addition of Shannon Kennedy as regional president for Orange and San Diego counties. Kennedy is based in Newport Beach.
In a recent interview with Family Wealth Report, BNY Mellon Wealth Management’s chief executive Larry Hughes explained that the firm does not intend to divide high net worth and UHNW segments into separate businesses. However, the firm is “very focused on trying to meet the needs of each of those segments,” he said.
BNY Mellon Wealth Management has over $188 billion in private client assets as of March 31, 2013.
