The European asset manager made the senior UK hire as part of its focus on investment consultants.

Candriam Investors Group, part of New York Life Investment Management, has hired Pictet's Fawzy Salarbux in the newly-created role of head of consultant relations.

Based in London, Salarbux will oversee Candriam’s relationships with the investment consulting sector globally. He joins from Pictet Asset Management where he was head of global consultant relations. He brings over 15 years of sector experience, having also worked as an investment consultant at Mercer and Aon Hewitt in London. 

“After investing in several new geographies we are looking to strengthen our relationship with investment consultants globally. We see this as a significant step to further enhance our footprint in the institutional space through Candriam’s innovative and successful investment strategies,” said Renato Guerriero, global head of Europe and Middle East client relations.

The hire follows last month’s appointment of Chris Davies as head of UK distribution and Derek Brander as head of UK wholesale. Candriam, which has management centres in Luxembourg, Brussels, Paris and London, managed around €94.1 billion ($104 billion) in assets as of the end of 2015.
