Franklin, TN-based CapWealth Advisors, a fee-based independent investment advisory firm, has promoted Phoebe Venable to president and chief operating officer, the Nashville Ledger reports.  

Venable joined CapWealth as a managing principal in March of 2011 from GenSpring Family Offices. She launched GenSpring’s Nashville, TN, office in 2009 and served as the investment advisor for client families in the Southeastern US. She was also a member of the firm’s national leadership team, conducting family member education programs nationwide.   

Venable started her financial services career in 1987 at SunTrust Bank, later becoming an investment portfolio manager and providing wealth management services to high net worth families in Central Florida. She was promoted in 2002 to first vice president and private client advisor, and in 2005 moved to SunTrust Bank in Nashville as managing director of private wealth management, also serving as part of the division’s senior leadership team, according to the firm's website.
