Citibank has opened a new "smart banking" branch in Malaysia, which the firm says is the first of its kind in the country.

Located at Menara Citibank, Jalan Ampang, the new branch is equipped with technology such as the Citibank Interactive Media Wall, the Citi Work Bench, where clients can conduct banking transactions, and the Citi video conferencing facility, which customers use to consult with Citibank specialists. Other features of the branch are the Citi Service Browser and the Citi Private Briefing Room.

At present, there are almost 100 smart banking branches in the Asia-Pacific region, including Japan, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Korea, Singapore, and Thailand. The Menara Citibank office also houses a Citigold centre, which has 17 private consultation rooms and dedicated tellers for Citigold clients.
