Conyers Dill & Pearman Launches BVI Trust Practice

The law firm Conyers Dill & Pearman has expanded its global private client offering with the launch of a practice in the British Virgin Islands which will advise on BVI trust law to BVI-licensed trustees and clients, including high net worth individuals.

Raymond Davern, an English barrister, has been appointed head of the BVI private client practice, and will work will Alec Anderson, global head of trust and private client, to oversee the growth and development of the practice, the firm said in a statement.

Separately, the firm has appointed David Pytches to its trust and private client practice in Cayman, which was launched in September of last year.

“The progressive introduction of our Cayman and BVI practices marks a notable step in our growing presence in these jurisdictions,” said Anderson.

In other developments, the firm announced that it will host its second Annual Trust Forum in London on 13 May, an event at which lawyers from Bermuda, BV and Cayman will deliver a series of talks on multi-jurisdictional options for the international private client market.
